HEALTHY LIVING...I HOPE!

So Andy asked me today if I was busy tomarrow around 5:00. Quickly jumping to conclusions I start thinking of all the wonderful suprises my great husband has come up with, dinner without the kids, an hour massage at the spa, the ideas were pouring in. So of course even if I did have plans I was about to cancel them, so, no plans, why? He then informs me that he'll pick me up right before five so we can go to the medical center and get weighed, blood pressure taken, consultation and other tests that I can't remember since I was still waiting for him to mention something about taking me out to dinner. Here's the thing, Andy has been on this healthy living kick for a few weeks now which I am very supportive of as long as it doesn't interfere with what I want to eat and do. So far it has been great, Andy eats carrots after the kids are in bed, I eat ice cream. I don't see a problem. Now he would like us to both get on board with this and be a more healthy couple, you know, grow old together. Since I couldn't come up with an excuse of why I should keep clogging my arteries, I agreed to go. I got off the phone and started to think of how great this could be for us, but then I started to really think of how this could be....no more coke!? Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my coke. It is my reward each day usually around 3:00, its my afternoon coffee, it is how I survive my day. So I must have gone into panic mode because I later found myself endulging on cream puffs and a coke. This might be harder than I think. I sure hope I can do this because when it comes down to it, I really do have a huge crush on Andy and I really do want to grow old with him. So wish me luck...here I go (at least, not until exactly 5:00 tomarrow!)

i am totally laughing out loud right now! you are a freakin crack up! and for the life of me, i can't imagine andy snacking on carrots...it's so not like him. and you better be careful not to lose another pound, you have none to spare! :)
so, are you doing the new program at the medical center? good luck to both of you!!!!

love the post! We've been on the health kick too. Instead of carrots, Matthew's been snacking on pickles late at night because they have no calories. I don't care what they don't have, I'd rather eat ice cream too!

I think that's great! You should be thrilled that Andy wants to be healthy and is encouraging you. I have the opposite problem. I want to eat more healthy, but Greg loves to snack when the kids go to bed on nachos and potato chips, I have a huge weakness, if I smell it, I eat it... ahhhh..

Good luck to you guys!

Way to go Andy. The image I see of Andy is running around the house with a bag of potato chips looking for another shirt to put on for the layer affect.

Way to go Lynne! Maybe I wouldn't be so enthusiastic for you if Adam suggested the same thing for us. I know that healthy lifestyle habits aren't all about losing weight, but if you want some low-guilt snack ideas I remember Scribbit posted a blog in January about her favorite satisfying, low cal snacks. Really, you don't have weight to lose, but if Andy challenges you about food choices, these ones are justifiable. Is diet Coke an option for you? The sweeteners in diet only have unproven, theoretical health risks, while sugared drinks have known health risks (obesity, diabetes). But I suppose drinking carbonation is bad for your bones and teeth no matter how it's sweetened. Good luck.

By the way.... does the picture indicate a new baby to go with the new healthy lifestyle?

no baby in the plans yet...i am too exhausted with ava waking up every 2 hours in the night to consider that yet, but maybe down the road, we'll see.

basically this program teaches you to reverse your eating habits by eating your biggest meal in the morning and tapering down throughout the day with a small dinner. your food consists of 1/3 protien, 1/3 carbs, 1/3 fats. they email you your food plan for each day. the food prep is so easy and cheap!!

Jeff and I started this week also. Jeff is having a mental block on his first day. He will do well though.
